## Determining a factor for landscape plants other than turfgrass, part 2: Observation-based approach

## Bringing it all together: Calculate K_{L}

Once you've assigned a species factor (K_{S}), a vegetative density factor (K_{D}), and a microclimate factor (K_{MC}), you can calculate the plant adjustment factor (K_{L}) with the equation previously mentioned:

- The adjustment factor for landscape plants other than turfgrasses is equal to the species factor multiplied by the vegetative density factor and the microclimate factor
- Or: K
_{L} = K_{S} × K_{D} × K_{MC}
- where K
_{S} is the species factor, K_{D} is the vegetative density factor, and K_{MC} is an appropriate microclimate adjustment factor
